Michael Albert Charleston

Michael Charleston, 59, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Henry Ford Health Center, Detroit. Michael was born May 9, 1959 in Detroit, the son of Thomas James and Mary Catherine Charleston.
He loved his wife and children with all his heart. Michael served his country proudly as a Aviation Electronic Technician in the United States Navy. He served active from September, 1979 to September, 1983 and inactive from September 1983 to September 1985. He loved helping everyone at any time. He loved his parent’s and family. Michael loved working at HFHS, his passion was his guitar and band and he loved to play golf. He also loved his cat Anna very much.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Josephine Charleston; daughter, Jamie Josephine Charleston; son, Donovan Michael Charleston; mother and father; sisters, Mary (Tom) Kraft, Fran (John) Jones Debbie (Jimmy) Lavorn; brothers, Jude (Marlene) Charleston, Tom Charleston, Al (Paula) Charleston, Joe Charleston Steve (Brandi) Charleston, and a host of friends.
The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, St. Clair Shores. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home with burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the family.
