Lucille Howard

August 21, 1925 ~ December 14, 2020 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Tribute

On December 14, 2020, the Lord called home his beloved servant Lucille Howard at the age of 95. Lucille was predeceased by her father Anthony Howard, mother Bedelia (Salah), brother Nesam and sister Josephine Isaac (John). Lucille leaves behind her loving family of Nephew Anthony Isaac, Niece MaryAnn Howard (Mark), Cousin Linda Salah, Great Nephew John Schwenk (Becky), Great Niece Christina Klisz (Sean), Great-Great Nieces Savanah Schwenk, Athena and Audrey Klisz and Great-Great Nephew Victor Schwenk.
During Lucille’s life she enjoyed many different activities and jobs.
She worked at Crowley’s Department Store in the Gifts Department and Michigan National Bank-Installment Loan Department. In 1965 her and her cousin Janet opened up the third Stroh’s ice cream store in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Using her knowledge of gifts, she taught herself how to make beautiful gift baskets for customers during the Easter season. When her beloved cousin Janet died, she continued the store for 5 more years before finally selling it. She continued her working career at Wright Kay and Company in sales. She then went on to assist Stroh's IceCream in opening up stores throughout the state.
She enjoyed reading, music, needle work, gardening, sports, theater and most of all travelling.
Her original goal was to visit all 50 states but in 1985 when she first went to Hawaii, she decided that nothing was more beautiful and continued to go there (8 more times) whenever she wanted to travel and eventually visited all 5 Hawaiian Islands. She enjoyed the sunrises in Haleakala (Maui), parasailing and visiting all the traditional tourist areas. She really couldn’t get enough of the waterfalls, rainbows, sunsets and the warm feeling of Aloha.
The most important thing to Lucille was always family. No matter if you were family by blood, marriage or neighborhood you were always welcome in her home and at her table. Although, Lucille never married or had kids she became the mother and grandmother of everyone who met her. Anyone who ever meet Lucille would quickly see what a loving, generous and beautiful person she was with a smile always on her face. She will be greatly missed by all those in her life but we all take solace in knowing she will be watching over everyone from Heaven.
