Gregory William Hemmen

Gregory William Hemmen, passed away September 18, 2022, age 68.

Beloved husband of Laurel (nee Bednarchik) for 36 wonderful years. Loving father of Alicia (Rob) Hermonat, Jennifer (Derek) Tuck, and Jessica Beckeman. Dear Papa of Sydney (John), Tyler, Trent, Chloe, Joshua, Brianna, and Tobias. Brother of Sandy (Mike) Dutrieux. Also survived by many loving friends and family. Predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Jan Miller; brother, Geoff Hemmen; son, Brian Bugaiski; and mother-in-law, Betty Bednarchik.

Greg worked at Barton Malow in Detroit for over 30 years after performing several roles in the company, including Foreman, Rigger, and Safety Coordinator.
He was an avid skater. Greg loved hockey and was a devoted fan of the Red Wings. He spent his spare time gardening barefoot in his vegetable garden. He was known as a “Mr. Fix It” and had a talent to tinker and repair just about anything. Most of all, Greg’s favorite role was a devoted Papa who never missed his grandchildren’s special events.

Memorial Visitation Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm with Memorial Service at 7:00 pm at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 East Fifteen Mile Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48312.
